Hope on Repeat ― music that unites us
UK for UNHCR wanted to hear your #HopeHit during winter. These are the songs that warm our hearts and inspire togetherness as we stand in solidarity with families forced to flee.
Why did we want to hear your #HopeHit?
Because music is a universal language, and for many refugees, a link to the lives they once lived, the people that shared them and the places that they called home.
Your #HopeHit might remind you of family, friends and connection ― from beautiful ballads to rousing rock anthems, from operatic arias to dance floor fillers.
With your help, we built a playlist of hope, which you can listen to here. Thanks to all of you, we also crowned the UK’s No 1 #HopeHit, which will be announced soon.
Be sure to listen to refugee Storytellers Maysa, Mariia, Fatima and Smajo share their #HopeHits in our Hope on Repeat podcast ― and the stories behind the choices. Music has a unique power to connect us, and to transport us to a different time and place. Together, our compassion can bring hope for a better future for people forced to flee.
You voted, we counted. Listen to our #HopeHit playlist – the inspirational songs that bring warmth and togetherness.
